TASI rises 0.3% to 10,948 pts; turnover hits SAR 4.7B

Saudi Arabia’s benchmark Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) closed 0.3%, or 36 points, higher at 10,948 points today, Jan. 21.
 
Total turnover reached about SAR 4.7 billion.
 
The benchmark opened at 10,900 points, reaching a high of 10,958 and a low of 10,871 during the session.

Market Index

The insurance sector witnessed a collective rise, led by Tawuniya, Bupa Arabia, Al Rajhi Takaful, MEDGULF, Gulf General, and Saudi Re, rising 10%.
 
The Cabinet approved the National Insurance Sector Strategy on Jan. 20.
SABIC rose by 3% to SAR 54.80.
 
Mobily, Riyad Bank, Makkah Construction, Bahri, Sulaiman Al Habib, Dar Al Arkan, and Masar increased between 1% and 4%.
 
Alwasail Industrial rose 1% on debut to close at SAR 3.40.
