Saudi inflation holds at 1.8% in July 2026
Saudi Arabia’s inflation rate remained stable month-on-month (MoM) at 1.8% in July 2026.
According to data from the General Authority for Statistics (GASTAT), the Consumer Price Index (CPI) rose to 105.6 points, compared with 103.8 points in July 2025.
Inflation is measured by the change in the cost of living between the current period and the corresponding period of the previous year. Its increase or decrease is determined by comparing it with the previous month.
GASTAT attributed the annual increase mainly to a 4.2% rise in housing, water, electricity, gas, and other fuels, driven by a 4.3% increase in actual rentals for housing. This is in addition to a 1.5% rise in food and beverage prices and a 1.4% increase in transport prices.
CPI YoY Comparison (July 2025-2026):

The authority developed the methodology for collecting and calculating the CPI in line with international best practices, ensuring greater comprehensiveness and accuracy.
It also updated the index’s base year to 2023, revised the items and weights of the Consumer Price Index basket, and expanded its geographic coverage to include all regions.
