US stocks fell for the second straight session at the close of Wednesday’s trading, but the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose alone, as investors continued to shy away from technology-sector risk.
As for oil, Brent crude futures for April delivery climbed 3.16%, or $2.13, to $69.46 a barrel.
US Nymex crude futures for March delivery also rose 3%, or $1.93, to $65.14 a barrel.
Gold futures for April delivery increased 0.32%, or $15.8, to $4,950.80 an ounce, after touching $5,113 earlier in the session.
Pressure persisted in the technology sector as investors avoided risk amid concerns over an artificial intelligence bubble and the negative impact of the emerging technology on software companies’ business models.
