Saudi commodities, services with highest price changes in July

Out of 169 goods and services distributed across 10 groups, the prices of 67 goods and services in Saudi Arabia increased year-on-year (YoY) in July, while prices of 97 commodities declined and 5 other commodities remained unchanged, data issued by the Saudi General Authority for Statistics (GASTAT) showed.

1. Food and Beverages (92 commodities):

African medium lemon was the highest gainer in July, up 31.06% YoY, followed by American cardamom with a 18.24% YoY hike.

Meanwhile, local medium potatoes were the biggest decliner, dropping by 18.05% YoY, followed by local round onions, which dropped by 14.93% YoY.

Elsewhere, prices of 14 construction materials rose YoY in July, while 23 others decreased, and one remained stable YoY.

Annual prices of five feed and livestock types surged in July, while eight others contracted YoY.

In the clothing category, prices of six items increased YoY in July, while four others retreated YoY for the same month.

Prices of three miscellaneous personal services and commodities went up YoY, while one fell YoY in July.

Prices of two detergent products advanced last month, compared to July 2024. Meanwhile, two items declined.

Prices of the three health services witnessed a YoY rise in July 2025.

Meanwhile, price of one service under the maintenance & repair of personal means of transportation grew on an annual basis. The other service under the same category, on the other hand, retreated YoY in July.

However, prices of both hotel rooms and furnished apartments fell YoY in July.

Under the tobacco category, the price of Marlboro ticked lower YoY.
