TASI rises 6% between Eid al-Adha holidays 2024/25

Tadawul All-Share Index (TASI) dropped 4.3% (494 points) between Eid al-Adha holidays of 2024/25.

 

The index closed the last session before this year’s Eid al-Adha holiday at 11,005 points, compared with 11,499 in the same period of 2024.

 

The benchmark index fell by nearly 8.6%, or 1,032 points, as of the beginning of the year until the 2025 Eid al-Adha holiday, weighed by the decline in global markets, US President's tariff decisions, and fluctuating oil prices.

 

Trading in Tadawul is set to resume on June 11.

Shares of 169 listed companies moved lower between the Eid al-Adha holidays of 2024 and 2025, while 54 others moved higher.

 

Gulf General Cooperative Insurance Co. topped losers, with a 54% drop, followed by Raydan Food Co. (53%).

 

Further, shares of Arabian Contracting Services Co. (Al Arabia), Salama Cooperative Insurance Co.Leejam Sports Co., Saudi Advanced Industries Co. (SAIC), and Mouwasat Medical Services Co. tumbled by 40-48%.

Meanwhile, shares of Fawaz Abdulaziz Alhokair Co. (Cenomi Retail) spearheaded gainers, after climbing by 115%. Al-Baha Investment and Development Co. came in next with a 102% jump, then Saudi Reinsurance Co. (Saudi Re) and Saudi Cable Co. with gains of 88% and 87%, respectively.

Performance of Large-Cap Companies:

 

The performance of large-cap companies during the period between Eid al-Adha in 2024 and 2025 was mixed. Al Rajhi Bank advanced by 18%, while Saudi AramcoACWA Power and SNB contracted by 10%, 19% and 3%, respectively.

 

SABIC led heavyweight decliners after shedding 25%, while Dar Al Arkan Real Estate Development Co. was the top gainer with a 63% rise.

Performance of REITs:

 

In general, TASI-listed REITs collectively moved down. This excluded units of Al Maather REIT Fund and SICO REIT Fund, which accelerated by 3% and 1%, respectively.

 

Riyad REIT Fund was the top loser among peers, falling 18% for the same period. Jadwa REIT Saudi Fund followed with a 17% slump.
