Aramco confirms damage at its Juaymah terminal, scheduled deliveries to be cancelled

In a company statement, Aramco said that LPG exports were also halted after an emergency response plan was activated. The company added it had cancelled propane and butane deliveries scheduled from the Juaymah terminal over the coming weeks, while the scope and duration of the disruption remain under assessment.

Aramco confirmed there were no leaks or injuries, adding that LPG shipments from the Kingdom’s west coast were unaffected.

Earlier reports, citing a notice sent by Aramco to clients, said the disruption was caused by the collapse of part of a pipe rack carrying propane and butane lines.

The terminal, located near the Jafurah gas field and Aramco’s Ras Tanura refinery, is among the world’s largest LPG export terminals, including propane and butane.

Dubai-based Netro Trading said in a client note that the outage comes at a particularly sensitive time for propane and butane markets, as Saudi exports are critical to long-term buyers in Japan, South Korea, China and India.

Vessel-tracking data from Kpler showed that Juaymah’s average monthly LPG exports stood at around 450,000 tons in 2024 and 2025.

Kpler data also indicated that at least 60% of the terminal’s LPG exports were shipped to India last year, while China accounted for nearly 15%.
