Saudi Telecom Co. has launched its 5G network in the Kingdom, the company said in a statement on Tuesday.

 

“This launching is the initial phase for operating the service once 5G special devices are available in the global markets”, the telecom operator said.

 

The announcement follows similar ones from the UAE’s Etisalat and Qatar’s Ooredoo this week.

 

In January 2017, STC successfully carried out advanced technical experiments and trials on 5G technology, the statement said.
