SoftBank shares rise 10% after telecom unit lifts outlook

Shares of SoftBank Group Corp. rose more than 10% on Tuesday after its telecommunications arm, SoftBank Corp., raised its full-year revenue forecast to 6.95 trillion yen ($44.73 billion) from 6.7 trillion yen previously.
In the first nine months of fiscal year 2025, SoftBank's revenue rose 8% year-on-year (YoY) to a record 5.2 trillion yen, while operating income climbed to 884 billion yen.
The company indicated that these results confirm its continued commitment to achieving its 2025 financial targets, despite improving certain aspects of its consumer business to prioritize long-term profitability over subscriber growth.
SoftBank Group shares closed 10.52% higher on the Tokyo Stock Exchange on Tuesday, ending at 4,698 yen ($30.25).
